About Halal Recs
Halal Recs helps people discover halal restaurants, grocers, and food businesses through business information, community recommendations, photos, and dish reviews.
Who runs Halal Recs?
Halal Recs is operated by Natch, Inc., a California corporation. Our directory brings business information and community experiences together so people can make more informed choices about where to eat.
How is halal status determined?
Community members can suggest a business's halal status. Suggestions are moderated; pending suggestions do not affect the public consensus. A team-verified status takes precedence over community suggestions.
Team verification is an internal review, not a halal certification issued by Halal Recs. Businesses and certification organizations may use different standards. Ask the business about ingredients, suppliers, preparation, and any certification before ordering.
What is the difference between a stated and an assumed status?
A stated status is an explicit claim from a business or documented evidence that can be reviewed. An assumed status is an inference—for example, from a cuisine, business name, or location. Those assumptions are not proof that food is halal.
A listing in Halal Recs is not, by itself, evidence of halal certification or a guarantee that every menu item meets your requirements.
How are businesses added?
Businesses can come from imported place lists and community submissions. Google Places supplies business details such as addresses and photos; it does not certify a business's halal status for Halal Recs.
Some imported listings may initially have limited information. Business information and community reports can change over time, so confirm important details directly with the business.
How do reviews work?
People review individual dishes using scores out of 10, with optional written feedback and photos. A review describes someone's experience; it is not a halal certification.
Collections help people organize and share places they want to try. Public contributions should reflect genuine experiences and respect other people's rights.
Help keep the directory accurate
Report incorrect business details or halal-status information through the business page, or contact support with a link and supporting information. Moderation is not instantaneous, and a submitted suggestion may not immediately change a listing.
